Tot slot de vraag wat is het nut? De kweek van insecten voor consumptie is vergelijkbaar met dat varkens qua CO2 uitstoot (12/n).

Maar kip is 40% klimaatvriendelijker dan varkens, en dus ook dan insecten.

Voor consumenten moet helder zijn wat er in voedsel zit. Dus het gebruik van insecten, waarvan niet duidelijk is of ze allergenen bevatten, zal in de taal van het land waar ’t wordt verkocht (geen Latijnse namen) op de verpakking vermeld moet worden. Toch @Consumentenbond?

Komende week zal ik urgente schriftelijke vragen stellen aan de Europese Commissie hoe het mogelijk is dat #insecten per januari ’23 kunnen worden toegevoegd aan ons voedsel (11/n) terwijl helemaal niet duidelijk is of dit wel veilig is! (12/n).
