@surrealfishjoke @HMRCgovuk That’s what I thought. Although as Denis Healey pointed out, the difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion is but the thickness of a prison wall.

@TristanCarlyon @JeremyBeecham We need 'Insulation banks' as much as we need 'Food banks', alas. Opportunity for a new charity? Again, 'Alas'.

@DavidWicks20 @jonburkeUK I think we should have fewer sheep, hence less land for sheep. But the sheep we do have should have their wool & meat used well, not wasted. Rear them in an agroforestry setting with access to eating willow leaves which drives down their methane emissions. Strange but true.

@ROCKWOOLGroup You missed the bit about the fossil fuels you burn to make Rockwool.

@jonburkeUK Quite. And why are BBC weather forecasters reporting mild November nights in a jolly, upbeat, ‘Isn’t this a good thing’ voice? It is not. It’s a canary in the mine moment. We are being warned.

@jonburkeUK And yet farmers often paid less for a fleece than it cost them to have the sheep sheared. If we valued wool more & were willing to pay more for it, we’d have better outcomes. Sheep & trees a good agroforestry mix.

@DavidWicks20 @jonburkeUK Cotton? I don’t think so. Huge water use during manufacture often in countries where water is in short supply. Also usually grown in countries where the land would be better used to grow food for local people.

@Egm51914954 @Joe_Morris91 ‘A good, moderate and very sensible candidate’. I’m happy with that description - thank you.

@blackgull You’ve chosen a good one to talk to. @BainbridgeFarms they even do agroforestry!

@MichaelSadgrove Wear gloves to avoid contamination and deliberately read it upside down (an interesting challenge). This means if anyone who knows you sees you they will deduce you’ve simply lost the plot and will be sympathetic rather than shocked or outraged at your deviation from the Guardian

Congratulations to @peopleandplanet Keep going! Plus, universities have lots of buildings & each year new ones are erected. Time to decarbonise these builds by using timber, replacing climate damaging concrete & steel. See University of Washington: prweb.com/releases/2022/9/prwe
RT @peopleandplanet: 🚨🚨 100th UK university goes Fossil Free!!!

Coventry Uni fully divests from fossil fuels! 🔥 @covcampus

Now…

This man has sold his soul to the devil … what other explanation can there be?
RT @AdamBienkov: Leading Brexiteer and former Boris Johnson advisor, Lord David Frost, has now gone to work for the Tufton Street, climate-change denying, so-called think tank, the Global Warming Policy Foundation.

ALL homes are now at risk of flooding from very heavy rain which can come & go in minutes but the damage is done. Not only homes in flood risk areas. @BBCRadio4 Today Programme. The climate has changed already.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/PaulBrannenNE/status

@Greenisamissio1 All good points. But we also need to explain why some, not all, trees need to be cut down for timber to build homes for a growing world population, replacing concrete & steel which are bad for the climate. Felled trees need replacing with new planting. policy.friendsoftheearth.uk/si
