@jamielewis016 Blatant gerrymandering by this shameful Conservative government. Impacts the most on the young and the poor … two groups unlikely to vote Conservative and hence its introduction.

RT @ouronehome: Why should you ditch the fake grass?

🌱 It depletes soil health & deprives vital pollinators and insects of a home
🌱 It's plastic & has a big
🌱 It doesn’t capture & store carbon emissions like grass lawns and plants

@CEMBUREAU Whatever the answer it only has any meaning if you tell us what percentage this is of the concrete industry’s waste each year.

Don’t forget you need proof of your identity to be able to vote ie photo id. Never previously needed, deliberately introduced by the Conservatives to make it harder for young people & those on low incomes to vote, as they’re the two groups least likely to have id =gerrymandering

Can Twitter provide me with a figure for the rate at which the UK is installing an adequate level of insulation in its homes? And a source! Thanks.

@annietrev All irrelevant given you were one of the Tory MPs who championed and then voted for both Boris Johnson and Liz Truss to become prime minister - thereby showing a total lack of judgement making you unfit for the role you hold.

RT @BE_STbuild: A two-storey mass timber pedestrian bridge was recently erected 65 feet above street level. The 21.4m bridge is part of the 10 storey Limberlost Place, the 1st mass timber, net-zero carbon emissions institutional building of its kind in Ontario.

Bye bye gardens 👋 The UK’s obsession with turning front gardens into car parks. No grass, no plants, no biodiversity. Devoid of beauty. Increased rain run off exacerbating our overloaded sewage system 😞

Agroforestry is important because it can increase food production while at the same time boosting stored carbon, producing timber/woody biomass and increasingly biodiversity. It’s often beautiful too.

@SustainableTall I'd heard these were coming, so great to see a picture. And if I'm not mistaken the carbon stored in the timber in these motorway gantries has been calculated, monetised & sold as carbon offsets. @CEIBois

Observed some ruthless pollarding in Brussels. Shades of The Banshees of Inisherin, if you get my meaning. But much more environmentally friendly than simply chopping the whole tree down because it’s ‘got too big’ ⁦@TreesforCities⁩ ⁦@ciarancuffe⁩ ⁦⁦⁦⁦

RT @JoeGiddings4: This is a no brainer. If we created such a facility in the UK it could be used to support the widespread adoption of biobased materials to decarbonise construction, safely: t.co/vYJidILTn1

@ouronehome When insulating a loft please consider using nature-based materials such as wood fibre. They usually have lower levels of embodied carbon than those made using fossil fuels AND wood fibre can store carbon.

@thepmadden Likewise. I’m passing St James’ Park from where the view has improved in recent months.
