@BenAdamSmith I guess it is a bit chicken and egg. Are customers asking the builder for advice on improving insulation? Are builders offering insulation advice? Is it all just about cost?

@bjames280961 @ULTRA_GARBO Fair enough. You are of course entitled to your opinions but climate change is a factual scientific reality and if you can't understand this than I can't help you. Although you could read this: climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

We know how to build warm houses and yet most new houses built by most builders are not. Given we are in the midst of a climate crisis this state of affairs is frankly criminal.
RT @BenAdamSmith: This is my favourite time of year to be a owner. The sun is out and it is -2 Celsius outside. Inside, however, the radiators are off… but it’s a steady 20 Celsius.

@TomBlenkinsop I’m old enough to remember we used to berate the old Soviet Union & it’s satellite states for denying its citizens the right to strike. Doesn’t she know it’s as fundamental to a democracy as the right to vote?

Even the UK’s new homes are not well insulated.
RT @GreenpeaceUK: SHOCKING FACT: The UK has the LEAST energy efficient houses in Western Europe.

It's almost like we need to insulate Britain...

@MichaelSadgrove @NTHadriansWall The sycamore tree like the dormouse was introduced to Britain by the Romans. Neither therefore are natives.

Due to catching covid I was unable to make a planned visit this year to the Sara Cultural Centre in Sweden which is one of the world's tallest wooden buildings. Maybe I'll make it in 2023?

@CarbonMrktWatch What is @CarbonMrktWatch 's view on the long-term storing of carbon in timber in the built environment? And that the amount of carbon stored is measured & then carbon credits are generated against this stored carbon as per this example: prweb.com/releases/2022/9/prwe ? Thanks.

@ianpeacock If I'm not mistaken there is an 8 missing on the third line down twelve characters in. If so this would explain why you didn't understand the message from the taxi company.

Strong case study from Australia showing how counterintuitively you can turn 20% of your farm over to growing timber & wood fibre thereby increasing biodiversity AND at the same time increase food production. Classic agroforestry win-win

This might be a visual prediction of how London will look if we don't address climate change and the sea level rises as a consequence of our inaction.
RT @matthew_downie: A lot of snow snaps, but what about this from above it all…

@SustainableTall Presumably this figure is achieved using fossil fuel-based materials which themselves have a fairly large carbon footprint. My guesstimate is we could achieve a 10 to 30% high saving if nature-based materials such as wood fibre insulation were used. BUT no figures seem to exist.

This book from Island Press sets out clearly & accessibly how we can turn the construction industry from a huge emitter of carbon into the opposite - a carbon sink. Multiple doors for entrepreneurs to head through! ⁦

@NQOsprey @forestsandwood @TimberDevUK Why would increasing the amount of food you produce and hence increasing your income be a 'kick in the teeth'?
