Sweden exports more timber to the UK than to any other country in the world. Plenty of opportunity to increase UK timber production without decreasing food production with agroforestry being central to this approach.
RT @andyheald: Wonder if Swedish TV is doing reports on UK timber shortages ?
UK imported circa £2.7 billion of sawn softwood in 2021.
35% of that from Sweden, nearly £1 billion worth. cdn.forestresearch.gov.uk/2022

RT @PaulBrandITV: Broadcast union @bectu, which represents thousands of BBC staff, says Lineker decision is “deeply concerning”, a “bow to political pressure” and “double standards” compared to the appointment of Richard Sharp.

Could be disquiet among BBC staff behind the camera as well as on it.

@CEMEX “30-70%” that’s rather a wide range. Which is it 30%? Or 70%? Surely you know. And either way, what then is the amount of embodied carbon? Again you must know. A 50% reduction of a very big number still leaves a very big footprint.

@WHurst1 Good to see. Where the City of London goes let's hope others follow asap. Demolition during a climate crisis makes no sense given 11% of carbon emissions are generated by construction. Refurbishment can look great:

RT @AdamJSchwarz: "Are we seriously having a discussion that a tweet from @GaryLineker has done more damage to BBC impartiality than your chairman seeking an £800k loan for Boris Johnson? ...This is just a whipped up row by Tories desperate to fight the election on culture wars." - @campbellclaret
