Failing water companies should be compelled to refer to themselves as ‘Poo companies’ (which is technically accurate) until they improve their game.

Insulating properly 19million homes is the correct strategy but we must use nature based materials such as wood fibre, hemp etc to do so, not fossil fuel based materials like rock wool which currently dominate the market @SueHayman1 @Ed_Miliband @Keir_Starmer @James_BG

@WestNorfolkBC what has gone wrong here?
RT @CharlieJGardner: Rather than pushing for decarbonisation, my council @WestNorfolkBC planted 6000 trees - in May🤦

This week I checked 150 of them - 90% were dead. Of those, 15% weren't even properly planted in the ground.

What a shocking waste of effort and money!

@CSkidmoreUK @James_BG @BusinessGreen Yes BUT we need to use nature based insulation materials eg wood fibre, hemp etc as 99% of current insulation materials have very high levels of embodied carbon, otherwise ‘Robbing Peter to pay Paul’ @SteicoUK @europanels_EPF

UK has amongst lowest forest cover in Europe. Note yesterday's climate package in the USA included more tree planting.
RT @jonburkeUK: 1/ What if I told you - with the continent suffering another and England in severe conditions - that increasing forest cover in Europe by 20% would result in 8% more summer rain, with negligible effects on winter rain?

You might not believe me, but it's true.

@GreenpeaceUK @TheCCoalition @friends_earth @XRebellionUK @WildlifeTrusts @nationaltrust @GreenAllianceUK Thanks. Lots of good stuff here from @GreenpeaceUK although page 12 shows man installing 'mineral wool insulation' made by melting rock at 1,500 degrees C by burning fossil fuels! Why not a nature based material eg wood fibre, hemp? 99% of current insulation is fossil fuel based

Good to see this. Many of us would like to see our green NGOs being harder hitting re fossil fuel use and with specific demands.
RT @WWFEU: Tobacco advertising was legally banned in the EU for being a threat to our health. It’s time to do the same with fossil fuel companies.

@JacoMajor @Build_in_Wood @ttinc @NewLandMKE No, Mjøstårnet is 85.4m tall & is all timber, see moelven.com/mjostarnet/
Yes, Milwaukee is taller at 90m but has seven concrete floors, see wiehag.com/en/references/ascen
But the Milwaukee concrete-timber hybrid is a most welcome addition - more please.

It is not. This is a hybrid timber/concrete building with the lower third reinforced concrete and the top two-thirds timber. Norway still has the tallest wooden building in the world.

@Build_in_Wood @ttinc @NewLandMKE I don't think it is. This is a hybrid building, with the lower thirds being reinforced concrete. Top two-thirds is timber. Tallest timber building remains in Norway:
