We need cement for foundations, potentially for lift shafts & hybrid as per the pic below is an option ie lower third concrete, upper two-thirds timber in Milwaukee

You can't decarbonise cement anymore than you can decarbonise coal. Yes, you can have 'less worse cement' but it's still a climate nightmare material. Our tall wooden buildings still need concrete foundations & there's hybrid. It's 'not as high carbon concrete' not 'low carbon concrete'. A very small positive by-product of an immensely damaging industry is too small a trade off.
