It’s the same in Ireland. Every patient-facing staff member should be wearing FFP3 respirators and all the others FFP2 at least. Incredible failure of health and safety. Litigation will follow otherwise. The same should apply to GP surgery and other primary care facilities.
RT @dgurdasani1: This is NOT acceptable. This is almost certainly costing lives. Why aren't we doing more to prevent spread in hospitals. We know what works! H…

As I’ve said twice this morning these should be bought by those who can pay and subsidised for immunocompromised. Also worn by all patient-facing HCWs. Other hospital staff should have KN95s. This is my box. They can be used at least five times in rotation.
RT @johnwenger9: Great thread on masks. Use a respirator (FFP2/N95) for protection .

As I said earlier one of these perhaps? In Ireland they or other N95s should be subsidised for immunocompromised and all patient-facing HCWs should have them. Why are we even talking about this? @MichaelRynne1 @INMO_IRL
RT @AbraarKaran: 1/ In our new paper, we describe lack of transmission from a very contagious healthcare worker during the Omicron surge caring for immunocompromised patients

@celoscher in the @thejournal_ie recommends the wearing of "high grade well fitting masks"
She means these KN95. They can be got in pharmacies. Note the shaped nose clip. 👇Clinically vulnerable could wear these N95 respirators. As should ALL patient facing HCWs.

OMG! How long does this have to be endured? It looks looks one of those sets of lines in an optician. The last one mercifully unreadable.

Would recommend these for frequent flyers with checked bags in the current debacle at Dublin Airport.
RT @AlexInAir: If you’re checking in luggage this summer (amid all the disruption) - it’s v sensible to place an Apple AirTag inside each bag 📶

Over weekend I was able to help friends with missing bags by showing airport staff exactly where the bags were…only because they had AirTags inside

Some relief from THE TERROR! Another one for @sailorrooscout
RT @BallouxFrancois: There is a SARS-CoV-2 wave underway in many countries. Current cases are made up of a mix of Omicron BA.2.x, BA.4 and BA.5 strains. All those lineages are fairly closely related and all derive from BA.2 (pink below), which caused the previous wave.

Are we prepared?
Go figure……
RT @EllingUlrich: BA.2.75 Maybe the new lineage to worry about? I don’t like the observed mutations.

Before we are done with the BA.5 wave we might already have to prepare for the next. Let’s take a closer look.

Enough with the "incidental covid" nonsense in Ireland
Read Dr Sharkawy thread.
Perhaps the media could ask awkward questions…..
RT @SharkawyMD: Let's be real. Whether you invoke the "with" vs "for" debate is besides the point. Hospital ERs weren't closing with this kind of regularity pre-pandemic. The burden of care has changed. Denying it will make things far worse. 1/
