Doing this can be a way for the therapist to reassure themselves and avoid silence and uncertainty. I guess we all do it sometimes. All the time? Perhaps time to find another line of work.
This avoidance is another reason why people generally engage in "optimism bullying"
If that’s you don’t do it. A depressed person (for instance) already feels bad enough without being chivied along with platitudes.
