The horrific attempted assassination of my great friend, Alejo Vidal-Quadras , in Madrid today, is an outrageous manifestation of the Iranian regime's sense of impunity in Europe.
We warned that releasing Iranian diplomats convicted of terrorism, in a scandalous prisoner swap deal with the mullahs, would only lead to further acts of terror and today we have the clearest possible evidence.
My best wishes to Alejo and his family. His speedy recovery will hopefully accelerate the downfall of this evil regime.
