The huge social movement in France is historic: popular anger against the pension reform and Macron's contempt is being voiced with full strength.
Macron is more and more isolated and is loosing the little support he had left. His only response: repression.

Extending the retirement age would have disastrous consequences on workers, who are fed up with ultraliberal reforms at their expense.
As the French Parliament is also opposed to this reform, Macron has found nothing better than to push his laws through without a vote.

Indeed, after having used a number of tricks to restrict the debate, Macron has triggered art.49.3 of the constitution.
Meaning that the law is adopted without a vote of the Parliament. Yes, France is probably one of the only democracies in which such practices are possible.

But his government is hanging on by a thread: the motion of no confidence voted by the deputies failed by only 9 votes.
And the use of the 49.3 only strengthened the anger of the French, who gather every day in the streets to demand the withdrawal of this reform.

Instead of listening to this anger, Macron redoubled his contempt and sent his militias to defend the government.
The result: unprecedented police violence, ranging from beatings to sexual violence, including the massive use of grenades and riot guns.

What is happening today in France could happen anywhere in Europe. It is a symbol of the struggle for democracy, against ultraliberalism & the repression of our rights.
A victory for workers would show that mobilisations can pay off, everywhere.
Our movement needs support!
