Former President Jimmy Carter turns 100 today. He is such a true symbol for democracy in the United States and all around the world. Thanks to the very much admired and missed Ambler Moss, I had the opportunity to meet the President over seven years ago. I was able to explain to him the reasons for our fight and our desire to become a free Catalan nation. He was extremely attentive, and ended up with great words of affection for the city of Barcelona and the monastery of Montserrat which he had visited. We wish you a very happy 100th Birthday, Mr. President!
