I have just concluded my visit to #Lebanon.
Clearly, the political, financial and economic crises have taken their dramatic toll, foremost on the people of Lebanon.
While the country is already in a unique position globally by hosting the highest number of refugees per capita.

However, humanitarian aid can only provide a lifeline.
It is crucial to start addressing the roots of the multiple crises in 🇱🇧.
Completed governance & an agreement with the IMF are a prerequisite to paving the way for much needed reforms - for a better future of the Lebanese.

The EU will continue to stand by the people in Lebanon in these difficult times.
I have announced €60 million of EU humanitarian funding for 2023 alone to ensure aid for the most vulnerable people in Lebanon. This includes Syrian refugees and the affected Lebanese.
