RT by @HelgaTruepel: My personal Christmas:
Every year since 1993, except when abroad on sabbaticals, we went to a Christmas party in Haifa, hosted by a dear friend (who is a proud Palestinian holding a senior post in Israel).
The company includes Christians, Jews, Moslems, atheists (most of us), gays and straights. A wonderful tradition of 3 decades.
Over the years, we met fellow guests from Lebanon, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority.
Sometime, arguments erupted. They were always sweetened by hugs, song, and joy.
A few weeks ago the host asked us whether to give the party this year. We said yes.
It’s tonight. I am cooking my contribution and fretting. Will it be very tense? Was it a good idea? So much pain and hypersensitivity. We’ll see. 🎄
