Zack’s right

It was depressing beyond belief to see Labour making the case that they would remove refugees more efficiently

It’s left to @TheGreenParty to give a moral and compassionate lead
RT @ZackPolanski: Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak shouting at each other in Parliament.

Not even a shred of compassion, humanity or dignity for people in any of their words.

It doesn't have to be like this.

@GreenPartyMolly that’s a bit disingenuous. My understanding is that those who are assessed as not meeting refugee status would be more efficiently removed.
My understanding is that Labour through negotiation with the EU establish safe routes and assessment points on the EU mainland?
Labour would remain within the ECHR.
As the Greens gave no chance of achieving office it’s quite easy I’m sure to appear to be all things to all people.
That to me sounds reasonable,

@gordo @GreenPartyMolly The Greens have been in office for years now. Unless you meant in government… in which case they also said no chance of getting councillors or an MP.

@gordo @GreenPartyMolly it’s a distant prospect in the UK sadly with our divisive and antiquated electoral system. Despite that we have majorities on a few councils. It’s a matter of time I believe …

@KiltedGreen @GreenPartyMolly Sure - and I’m supportive of many “ Green “ policies. I also agree with you re PR.
My point really in response to the criticism of Labours stance by a Green as I thought it was inaccurate and didn’t recognise just how difficult it is to negotiate this very complicated issue for for a party on the brink of Govt.

@gordo @GreenPartyMolly It is difficult I agree, but Labour should not be trying to behave like a somewhat less awful version of the Conservatives on this issue in order to sound “acceptable” to some imagined voter. Often what voters want is ahead of what a lot of politicians think they want.
