In 2022, the agency helped to return a record number of people who were staying illegally in the EU.
Out of the 24 850 people Frontex helped to return last year, 40% returned voluntarily

Through reintegration assistance, Frontex provides support for voluntary returnees both in the first days following their arrival and also assists them for as long as a year to help them reintegrate into their societies. In 2022, we helped 1000 people start a new life back home
