Today 4 April I visited with @NicolasSchmit 6 very inspiring #CohesionPolicy funded projects in Romania’s North East region.
In spite of being peripheral & lagging, the region has many centres of excellence, entrepreneurial capacity and energy. I am sure it will catch up quickly

We visited a hospital, a kindergarden & a meat processing factory in Vaslui ➕the Nicolina Ukrainian Refugee Centre, the medical simulation centre CEMEX & the emergency rescue centre SMURD, in Iași.
It is very rewarding to see progress benefiting people in their everyday lives.

This shows yet again that the EU cannot function without #CohesionPolicy
Romania’s GDP progressed very quickly since EU accession but internal disparities remain.
Cohesion helps regions accelerate convergence & build the basis that will allow them to walk by themselves. 🇪🇺🤝🇷🇴
