With today’s agreement on REPowerEU, the co-legislators have also agreed to #SAFE (Supporting Affordable Energy) measures under #Cohesion policy to cushion the impact of the high energy prices.

#SAFE will enable Member States & regions to use up to 10% of their 2014-20 #Cohesion allocations to:
✔️support SMEs facing high energy prices;
✔️address energy poverty in vulnerable households;
✔️ maintain jobs through sort-time work schemes.

#Cohesion programmes 2021-27 will contribute to #REpowerEU through long-term investments in renewables, energy efficiency & smart grids.
Member States will have the possibility to use up to 7.5% of each fund WITHIN Cohesion for #REPowerEU objectives.
