Today, we published an overview of the ECA’s work in 2021. We continued to provide independent, objective reports on key issues for the future of the EU:
◽️ What works well
◽️ What could be improved
◽️ What changes would allow the 🇪🇺 to reach its full potential.
This allowed the EU #auditors to reach meaningful conclusions and make specific recommendations. The ECA issued 55 publications, dealing with issues such as:
👩🌾Common agricultural policy (#CAP)
🌍#Climatechange
🏭Polluter-pays principle
⚡️#Electromobility
📲#Disinformation
In 2021, the #EU auditors continued to work within the constraints of COVID-19 travel and #publichealth restrictions.
The auditors adjusted to the new situation, with new working methods & new tools to provide an effective public #audit service in the 🇪🇺.

Intellectual property rights play a big role in a knowledge-based economy. 💡
However, our 🆕 report shows that the EU’s legal framework for protecting #intellectualproperty is not as effective as it could be and that a number of shortcomings remain.
