#EPplenary debate today on #Ukranian cereals flooding EU market. In my speech I stood up for our farmers: the COM bears huge responsibility that much of the cereals to Africa with serious food shortage has been stuck in MSs of the EU's Eastern borders.

The COM should recognise and act accordingly: the problems of our #farmers are just as important as those of the West, and that market turmoil, no matter if in the East or West of the EU, is a European problem.

Brussels started to listen only after the introduction of unilateral safeguard measures by four MSs (PL, HU, SK, BG). If UA cereals flooded the Westerns MSs instead, a solution would have been found immediately.
