EU might provide high-level protection to air passengers through norms but this seems to remain mostly on paper. Remember chaotic scenes at airports last summer.

In my intervention at tonight's #EPplenary debate I urged the COM to improve the enforcement of existing law on safeguarding passenger rights. I called for a transparent, easily accessible & traceable claim enforcement system which would be a passenger-friendly solution for all.

Commissioner Valean promised new proposal for better implementation next year. Hope they will not remain only another paper-version protection.
