We were in Finland 🇫🇮 to observe the application of🐟sample weighing procedures in their ports and discuss its implementation & challenges with 🇪🇺MS authorities to help us develop recommendations.

CMS services are also useful to investigate the presence of suspected vessels & activities as part of #FisheriesControl missions. Optical 🛰️ images support the visual detection & identification of vessels and thus provide valuable information for fisheries patrol means.🐟

#SAR & #Optics imagery provided by CMS helps us to detect vessels and fishing-related activities in remote areas, allowing us and 🇪🇺MS authorities to deploy inspection means in areas where they are most needed, saving time & operational resources.

#DYK that #EO is one of the tools used to combat #IUU🎣? @CopernicusCMS has proven to be an effective aid for #fisheriescontrol, with EFCA coordinating the uptake of more than 1000 images in 2022.
