This is preposterous. Durham police, like the Met, have caved into political pressure to interpret the rules in a way that no one understood them at the time. What kind of banana republic are we, using retrospective investigations to pursue political opponents?

With all the data in, it turns out that excess deaths in Britain were lower than in Germany, but higher than in Sweden. So much of what we were told at the time turns out to be nonsense.
