Last week I visited Copper Valley Vue in Glanmire and and saw the impact the floods had on that community.
I raised with the Minister the need for long term planning and a national scheme for those who cannot get flood insurance

A derelict site order has been served on the former Central Hotel in Mallow. 🕋

The government has announced emergency business flooding schemes for small businesses, sports clubs, and community and voluntary organisations affected by recent flooding in Cork but which are unable to secure flood insurance. Flood relief of up to €100,000 is available.

has today secured Cabinet approval to make an additional of €3 million of funding available under the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme for flooding.
She has also secured an increase in the income limits for the scheme to:
€50,000 for a single person,
€90,000 for a couple,
€15,000 per dependent child.
Funding of €71,000 was paid directly to 128 individuals or families in Midleton, Glanmire, Tallow and other areas impacted by flooding.
The payments made so far have been in respect of food, clothing and bedding, ranging from €150 to €2,100, depending on the needs of the individuals or families.
