I pray for a collapse of the Russian front with mass surrenders or mutiny. This is the one thing Putin has no solution for in Moscow. In this case the lack of Ahmat Chechen or FSB enforcement forces made surrender possible so maybe a one off phenomenon but who knows.

UK democratic system be it FPTP or Referendums is deeply flawed in many ways but you can't cherry pick the bits you don't like &amp; ignore the bits you do. UK needs sweeping Constitutional reform but no mainstream party will embrace this cause as power &amp; patronage is their priority!

Is this consistent with the rule of law in a democracy or consistent with UK obligations under the European Convention of Human Rights? I abhor violent protests but collective punishment is unacceptable in a free country. Surely the Lord Chancellor should have a word here?
