for

today! Big thanks to everyone who braved the wind & rain 😊💚 So many people saying they’re voting Green to keep a strong independent voice who will put the city first 👍

Lovely to be able to share some of my favourite authors & books - the wonders of ⁦

⁩, joy of Barbara Kingsolver, wit & warmth of Jane Eyre & downright terror of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Red Shoes which still gives me nightmares 😱

Well said! 'Spills' are usually justified by water companies as some kind of misfortune due to bad weather to stop sewage coming back up the toilet. Pumping it out during dry spells sounds like deliberate operating policy. First step must be to bring water back into public hands

RT by @CarolineLucas: Cheered when Carla Denyer was the first to say yes to rejoining the EU and single market. Thank you @carla_denyer!

@TheGreenParty rightly believes Britain belongs in the EU

RT by @CarolineLucas: If you agree with what you've heard tonight -

- protecting the NHS
- bringing services into public ownership
- stand up for migrants and people seeking asylum
- and action on the climate crisis

RT by @CarolineLucas: “During the debate, the Green Party’s co-leader @carla_denyer criticised the role of privatisation in the health service and made the case for a publicly owned NHS.”

RT by @CarolineLucas: The Green party's Carla Denyer not only impressive but relaxed and picks her moments...

Really strong! Sticks to facts and is very succinct.

RT by @CarolineLucas: Carla Denyer straight out the gates with the clear choice facing us at this election.

More austerity with the two old parties - or the investment that @TheGreenParty is calling for.

We'll defend our NHS.

This framing and language from the
nitter.privacydev.net/search?q
is unpleasant and unfair, speaking to a narrative that paints people as on the take. Seriously hope this isn't a continuation of the brutal sanctions regime that is so harmful and isn’t helping people.

[2024-06-13 17:54 UTC]

This wasn't a manifesto for hope and change, but a manifesto for more of the same. We can't have another five years of failure to invest what's needed now

[2024-06-13 11:20 UTC]

We should have heard something more for renters from Keir Starmer - competition is so intense that there are 20 requests to view each available property - rents are sky high. We need a full package and plan for renters that includes rent controls and real renters’ rights

[2024-06-13 11:19 UTC]

Was that it??
Bizarre to hear Starmer say that he's fed up of politicians failing in their responsibility to the future, given deafening silence on tackling
nitter.privacydev.net/search?q
head on. Not only vital to secure a liveable future but opportunity to create greener, fairer one too

[2024-06-13 11:01 UTC]

Keir Starmer talks about giving children a fair chance yet isn't scrapping gross Tory injustice of cruel 2 child benefit cap.
Doing away with it would lift 300,000 children out of poverty - they can't wait for 'long-term' & think of what they could do with the right help

[2024-06-13 10:55 UTC]

Not the existential threat of climate change. Not fixing the NHS. Not tackling poverty and inequality. But the creation of wealth he won't even tax fairly? Sad to see this from a Labour leader. Real hope real change anyone?

RT by @CarolineLucas: This manifesto isn’t more of the same,” Ramsay told a crowd... “It’s a look at what things could be like – & soon, if we’re willing to invest at the rate necessary & to be bold & ambitious.”

RT by @CarolineLucas: There is a lot to welcome in @TheGreenParty manifesto: increasing funding for schools and for educator pay rises, ending high-pressure tests, abolishing Ofsted and alleviating child poverty.

RT by @CarolineLucas: We welcome the Green Party’s 2024 manifesto which is aspirational and progressive, contains measures which would tackle the many crises the country faces, and would make a meaningful difference to student lives.
