RT by @CarolineLucas: Caroline Lucas, "Having Greens in parliament will push Keir Starmer to be a bit braver and a bit bolder"

"Where is the £28 billion for the green economy.. Why isn't Labour talking about wealth taxes" @CarolineLucas

RT by @CarolineLucas: "They are being so cowardly right now."

Former Green MP Caroline Lucas criticises Labour, saying the role of the Greens is to push Labour to adopt more progressive policies - and adds: "They bloody well need it, frankly!"

RT by @CarolineLucas: Caroline Lucus(Green): "I think we need to have a debate about the impact of brexit. I can't bear the fact that Nigel Farage keeps getting away with no one asking him about his last mad adventure, before he starts trying to take Britain down the path of a new one.."

RT by @CarolineLucas: Caroline Lucas, "Keir Starmer is not offering hope at this election.. People are voting for Labour to try and keep the Tories out"

"We know there are going to be public spending cuts.. The two big parties aren't being honest about that.. Labour are saying they don't have a magic money tree.. Yet there are political choices.. It is perfectly possible to levy a tax on the super wealthy which we could use to fund our public services"

Well said @CarolineLucas 👏

RT by @CarolineLucas: Asked about the plight of people in their 30s who can't afford to rent - let alone buy! - Sunak has no answers for Britain's renters, in fact he wouldn't even acknowledge there's a problem. We deserve better - time for real change to our broken private rented sector.

[2024-06-10 20:43 UTC]

RT by @CarolineLucas: Sunak & @bbcnickrobinson had a substantive debate @BBCPanorama just now. But there was one glaring omission. Brexit.
The UK has indeed been hit hard by external factors: financial crisis, Covid, Ukraine war. But leaving the EU continues to cost the UK dearly. And Sunak backed it

[2024-06-10 19:43 UTC]

Brexit is the elephant in the room parties don't want to talk about - especially Reform. Farage says we're skint but won't say what a disaster he helped cause through Brexit. We can't let him get away with it.

Maybe because Greens are offering real hope & real change - eg rent controls so that young people can afford a decent roof over their heads; investment in public services paid for through higher taxes on the wealthiest and urgent action on climate & nature for a liveable future👇

RT by @CarolineLucas: All things being equal, 'I hope people find it in their hearts to forgive me' does not sound like a winning election slogan.

RT by @CarolineLucas: Very happy be invited to write this piece with @EllieChowns – from the Sussex coast to Hereford rivers, water quality is unacceptable. We support the @theipaper campaign whole-heartedly to save Britain’s rivers.

[2024-06-10 09:19 UTC]

RT by @CarolineLucas: Today @TheGreenParty backed the Save Britain's Rivers manifesto - but we'd go further

Read down for more, inc a new Rights of Nature Act to give everybody the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment + legal rights to nature too👇

RT by @CarolineLucas: I have been asked if I will speak up for cat welfare if elected: I will! The Cat Manifesto by @CatsProtection outlines how to improve cat's lives, all 9 of them, in legislation and society. I'm pledging to speak up for cats and keep them safe from cruelty: cats.org.uk/manifesto#SpeakUpF

As snake oil salesman Farage attempts to flog his latest plans to turn the UK into a mini Trumpland, it’s extraordinary that
