had the audacity to suggest 1423 residents posted their votes on election day after the late vote fiasco in May 2023 - deflecting blame from themselves. Good BHCC are doing checks, but the handling of this saga has been abysmal - shocking RM response below!

So good to see this. If we’re to secure a liveable future, the promotion & normalisation of fossil fuels must urgently end 👇

RT by @CarolineLucas: 📢 New poll reveals the majority of people believe the main parties are falling short on addressing the nature and climate crises.

With nature in freefall and urgent action needed, it's crucial we hold our leaders accountable.🌎

RT by @CarolineLucas: Today we are launching our @TheGreenParty policies for health, and I’m proud that Green candidates across the country are at one with @WeOwnIt on the urgent need to defend the NHS against further privatisation when Labour forms the next Government. 1/4

So moving. Eternally grateful to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice - we must never forget.
And defending the universal rights & freedoms they fought for is one of the best ways we can commemorate their sacrifice

It very much looks like PM has breached the Ministerial code which says “Ministers must uphold the political impartiality of the Civil Service”. The code also requires honesty among other prinicples. PM is wrong to think people don’t care about standards. Voters want integrity.

RT by @CarolineLucas: Here at Brighton & Hove planning committee to bear witness to the decision on planning permission for Brighton’s bomb factory. I wrote to the members this week. Morally, ethically there is no place here for making weapons used in illegal military actions. sianberry.org.uk/2024/06/03/si

RT by @CarolineLucas: Rishi Sunak like Boris Johnson has zero integrity. In the debate he relied on claims his number came from the independent civil service. This morning the top Treasury civil servant said the figure should not be presented as coming from the civil service. Voters deserve better!

This is the critical decade for climate action. Political failure in the next Parliament is not an option. The media has a responsibility to scrutinise how parties will respond to the global emergency of our era.

but I doubt this day - or any other - will see either Tories or Labour acknowledge what an absolute state of emergency our natural world is in - let alone put forward a real plan to address it. That's why I'll be joining this march, demanding better.

RT by @CarolineLucas: Labour is projected to win seats across the UK in a historic landslide victory, according to a new prediction from YouGov released on Monday.

But if you want a Labour with a conscience, vote Green to keep them honest.

The Tories are toast. Sunak's got no answers & can't hide the mess they're leaving. But what's more concerning is PM-in-waiting Starmer appears to have no vision for real change either. Green MPs would push a new Labour Govt to be bolder & braver

The point neither of them are making is the cost of *not* decarbonising. How much will floods cost? How much will cold inefficient homes cost people and the NHS? Volatile fossil fuel bills? Rising food prices?

What a shameful thing for a UK PM at a time of global climate crisis to shrug his shoulders and say it's not for us to try to solve the problem. We have a responsibility. We made legal & global commitments. And the future is at stake

Sunak’s lies & hypocrisy on

“Of course we should have safe routes” says the PM who has literally dismantled our asylum system and is responsible for the most egregious and despicable law that says Rwanda is safe when it isn’t in a bid to outsource our duties to people seeking asylum

So depressing to see Starmer & Sunak seeking to out-compete with each other to be as inhumane as possible to some of the most vulnerable people in the world. Note to Sunak: seeking asylum is NOT an illegal act
