Grim - Farage's views & methods are pure Trump. He’s spent his political career whipping up nasty, racist, populist division & rather than simply trying to push Tories even further to the right, he’s now setting up an even more extreme alternative power base. Profoundly dangerous

Nuclear weapons are illegal & immoral - chilling to hear Labour try to normalise them on grounds they’re “essential” for jobs & public services. WMD divert money *away* from public sector. Labour argument means all countries should acquire them - making us all less safe

RT by @CarolineLucas: I see the Tories are starting the week with more culture wars, division and hate - taking a swipe at our Equalities legislation that protects us all from discrimination and trampling trans people’s rights.

Let’s make them lose so badly that even Badenoch loses her seat.

RT by @CarolineLucas: I’m delighted to have Norman Lamb’s support. To have the backing of such a well respected former local LibDem MP is a big boost to my campaign

More & more people who have previously voted LibDem & Labour are coming behind me to beat the Conservatives in .

RT by @CarolineLucas: I live in Bristol Central which @ElectCalculus poll ⏬️ indicates may return our first @TheGreenParty MP Carla Denyer

My politically independent observations

Vote Green signs are in houses all around
@carla_denyer is known & popular locally
Greens hold 34 of 70 council seats in Bristol
Greens won all 14 council seats in the constituency just weeks ago
Experienced Green councillors in my ward really are excellent & engaged
Greens are fighting hard

Bristol Central is a new and unusual constituency (& an ace place to live!)...

We still poll as one of highest REMAIN votes
With one of lowest age range (I'm an oldie here👍🏼)
High level of young graduates (students love to stay living in Bristol...it's pretty beautiful AND chilled)
Even local Tories hate the Tories, and will probably switch to Green not Labour
A Bristol Central "spirit" is generally "rebellious" (suits me down to the ground...ha)

It's one to watch on July 4th
This post is not taking political sides btw

I wish the race wasn't between two great women with strong political voices, but it is

RT by @CarolineLucas: “We want a fairer society.
To tackle the crisis in our & the dental desert, our hospitals have patients in the corridors, we’re going to ask the very rich - multimillionaires, billionaires - to pay modestly more in tax.”

Good👏🏻 @AdrianRamsay

RT by @CarolineLucas: People are saying they are worried about the future of the NHS, and the creeping privatisation that Labour are saying they want to continue with.

[2024-06-01 10:36 UTC]

RT by @CarolineLucas: I have signed the committing to exposing and opposing NHS privatisation and making the case for tens of billions in new funding. Good health services run for the public good are important Green principles.

RT by @CarolineLucas: On @BBCPolitics Live yesterday: People know that they're going to get a better Labour government with Greens holding them to account. Green MPs will be a constructive opposition - and the opposition that Labour really needs to have.

RT by @CarolineLucas: Yesterday I spoke to @CarolineLucas

She described the treatment of both @faizashaheen & @HackneyAbbott by Starmer’s Labour as ‘deliberate humiliation’ & cruel.

RT by @CarolineLucas: Again: far beyond anything Blair did.

We are in new territory when it comes to democratic subversion.

RT by @CarolineLucas: At launch of @thegreenparty election campaign in Bristol.

Behind @CarolineLucas are the 4 candidates where Greens are most competitive: @carla_denyer @AdrianRamsay @sianberry & @EllieChowns

It’s an interesting pitch: Labour will win, vote for us to make them do something.
