@ajcdeane These people are being a bit silly but there's an interesting philosophical debate to be had about whether the cab rank rule has any room whatsoever for conscientious objection.
I *think* it used to be the case one could decline to prosecute a capital case.

@ajcdeane Would add that over the years I have prosecuted some people I have a degree of sympathy with. The young person who never had much chance in life before, choosing to do something bad. Humane prosecutors are important.
