@adamboultonTABB John Thurso gave up his hereditary peerage to bevan MP.

There was an issue about life peers being elected as MEPs. @SarahLudford may know. There was a ECHR argument it was unfair to bar their election. Resolved by peers taking leave from HoL to serve in EP, IIRC.
