Local authorities have a huge role to play in delivering services and in local infrastructure development. In the EU, local & regional authorities are responsible for implementing some 70% of the EU acquis. 1/3

The EU is the biggest donor in the country and will continue to support local authorities. Roughly, 40% of our annual cooperation budget is spent on projects that make a difference for people locally. 3/3

Pleased to address the Joint Consultative Committee of the Committee of the Regions 🇪🇺 & 🇲🇰. We discussed the role of local authorities now that negotiations are open and urgent issues such as energy. Always useful to compare experiences between local mayors here & in the EU. 2/3
