RT by @AlynSmith: The Church of the Holy Rude is a stunning historical landmark located in Stirling, Scotland. It is the second oldest building in the city after Stirling Castle, which rises prominently nearby. This church is of significant historical importance as it has been the site of many notable events, including the coronation of King James VI of Scotland in 1567. Adjacent to it stands the Cowane's Hospital, an almshouse established in the 17th century by the merchant John Cowane. Despite its ruinous state today, the mansion's fine façade still stands, featuring a gatehouse with sculptures and matching semi-polygonal towers flanking the entrance, as well as intricate carvings, statues, and coats of arms.

Together with the Church of the Holy Rude and Cowane's Hospital, Mar's Wark forms part of the rich tapestry of Stirling's historical architecture, each building with its own story woven i…
