RT by @june_mummery: The villains in the plot to break Northern Ireland away from Great Britain are @Conservatives, the EU and Irish govt. The @duponline is NOT to blame.

Sadly it falls to the DUP to protect the constitutional integrity of the UK, when it is HMG that should have assured it.

The pressure created on political unionism with threats and offers of bribes from HMG, to get its malign intent with the Protocol, is repugnant.

@J_Donaldson_MP has worked tirelessly to find a solution. He is a good man and should never have had to shoulder this responsibility/ pressure.

Sadly, if I’ve correctly understood the “deal” put by HMG to the DUP, the Irish Sea border would not be removed; article 6 of the Acts of Union would not be restored; and Brexit itself would be undermined.

No deal is always better than a bad deal.

What NI needs is not Stormont. It needs a bright vision and plan as part of the UK. It could be a roaring success. There are many things which could be done to make that a reality. These things do NOT require the restoration of Stormont.

I stand not with political expedience. I stand with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
