Despite uncertainties of nuclear energy, there are countries strongly betting on it. Like Finland, the EU country with highest energy consumption per capita. Today we visited the new #Olkiluoto 3 plant & the underground nuclear waste repository that will be operational in 2 years

Nuclear energy represents almost 35% of the Finnish energy mix. 20% of wind power. 16% of hydro power and 15% of biomass are also noteworthy. Next year, Finland will achieve energy self-sufficiency, that is, it will stop importing energy.

We also visited the @MetsaGroup pine sawmill in Rauma, the most modern in the world. In this plant, everything that comes from the forest is used, and even surplus bioenergy is generated. Precondition however has to be sustainable forest management, with biodiversity benchmarks

And as last meeting related to energy, we visited in #harjavalta the under construction @P2X_Solutions site, which will produce green hydrogen and synthetic methane. The hydrogen economy needs clear European regulation and actions that encourage demand and scale up production
