Despite uncertainties of nuclear energy, there are countries strongly betting on it. Like Finland, the EU country with highest energy consumption per capita. Today we visited the new #Olkiluoto 3 plant & the underground nuclear waste repository that will be operational in 2 years

Nuclear energy represents almost 35% of the Finnish energy mix. 20% of wind power. 16% of hydro power and 15% of biomass are also noteworthy. Next year, Finland will achieve energy self-sufficiency, that is, it will stop importing energy.

And as last meeting related to energy, we visited in #harjavalta the under construction @P2X_Solutions site, which will produce green hydrogen and synthetic methane. The hydrogen economy needs clear European regulation and actions that encourage demand and scale up production

We just ended the visit of the @EP_Industry committee to Finland. We were able to see how this Nordic country is at the forefront of digitization, innovation and research policies at EU level. As well as its great potential in renewable energy, which the country is deploying,

Finland is a European leader in digital policies. We talked about it this morning at the University of Tampere @TampereUni , where we also learned about the leadership of the Tampere region in key areas such as 6G, advanced chip design and photonics
