“The report we are debating today is built on 2️⃣ ideas:
◾️ that space is a strategic arena, which is vital for our security and wellbeing.
◾️ that the increased competition from authoritarian states necessitates that the EU and its Member States share resources and capabilities to address security in outer space.
The ECR supports this report as the threats to space-based communications capabilities are growing and the operational capability of Member States to address these threats is, for now, far too low.”
