The maths thing is a dead cat. But here's my take on it FWIW:
Kids don't need more maths. They need real-world numeracy. They need to understand interest rates and budgeting (credit card debt). How percentages really work (pay rises). Basic statistics applied to real world stuff

They need art, music and creativity to make their souls sing and their hands busy.
And a bit about politics and society, and how to form their own opinions would be good too. How to tell news from propaganda.
We need to build healthy, wise adults. More maths isn't the answer

They need to learn about mental health, what healthy relationships look like, consent and respect (did you know there is no govt funding for experts to support this? Millions poured into supporting victims of sexual assault but nothing given to education/prevention work).
