RT by @anapalacio: BLOOMBERG: BP, EQUINOR PULL OUT OF NY OFFSHORE WIND
New York tore out Indian Point, 2.2GW of constant power at $40-50 per MWh production cost.
It's ok, they said! The wind revolution is here! We can just use natural gas until then.
But now fossil fuel giants BP and Equinox are pulling out on offshore wind: random +$100/MWh power.
They need more subsidies from the public, considering how random the power is (what if it comes at the wrong time?) and how extreme the construction and maintenance conditions are off the Atlantic seaboard.
Thank God I'm in Chicago with 80% nuclear at $40-55 MWh.
