2/7 From threatening to cut the EU budget to actually stopping EU aid to Ukraine, Orban has continuously worked against EU interests.

3/7 The 🔄 presidency has lost some of its political influence since the Lisbon Treaty, however it still holds important agenda setting powers.

4/7 What is to be done then?

In the short term, scrap the 🇭🇺 presidency altogether and divide it among Spain & Belgium.

5/7 In the long term, we should scrap the 🔄 presidency altogether & turn the Council configurations into a single entity presided by the EUCO president.

6/7 The General Affairs Council would function as the legislative Council meeting in public, similar to the EP plenary sessions.

7/7 The remaining Council configurations would operate as transparent preparatory structures, similar to the functioning of committees in the EP.
