RT by @abiralsahlani: ⭕️, a 35-year-old follower of the Yarsani religion (an underrepresented religious community), was detained by the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) in Karaj on December 3, 2022, and then moved to Kermanshah. He is now sentenced to the death penalty.
Based on reports, there is insufficient proof and evidence for the death penalty, and despite an apparent lack of condemning evidence, Reza received the death penalty. He received this verdict for the alleged murder of Nader Bayrami, a member of the IRGC intelligence department, during the memorial for Khalil Ali Nejad, a Kurdish poet, singer, and religious figure.
The IRGC forces attacked people at the memorial, and Nader was killed during this conflict. There is no trace of Reza in the pictures and videos that have been published since the death of that agent. Trusted sources stated that the Chief Justice of the regime pressured the court to finalise this case and issue the verdict even without concrete evidence.
After his arrest, Reza was transferred to the detention centre of the Intelligence Department and severely tortured. According to a local source, all of Reza's toes and ribs were broken to extract a forced confession about his participation in the murder. He was reportedly so tortured that he couldn't even walk easily, and yet he was not allowed to receive medical care. He has been deprived of his right to have a lawyer since his arrest.
