The European Commission published in late December 2023 its report on the quality of life in European cities.
Zurich ranks first, with around 97 percent of residents satisfied with living in their city, followed by Copenhagen and the Dutch city Groningen, with about 96 percent.
Palermo ranks last, with only 62 percent, preceded by Athens and Istanbul, each with a 65 percent.
The report also found that residents think smaller cities are a better place to live
