@ArielBrunner My understanding is that the science does say a managed forest stores more carbon than an unmanaged one, see EcoTree: https://ecotree.green/en/blog/when-it-comes-to-sequestering-carbon-in-the-forest-all-trees-are-efficient But of course forests have other roles in which case you may decide not to manage a forest.
