RT by @MarietjeSchaake: In the midst of continued heinous Israeli crimes, the Lebanese are left on their own.

While the international community talks of working towards an end to the current hostilities, it has not upheld its discourse with action for the past 11 months.

The Lebanese government is dysfunctional, unwilling to exercise its most basic of responsibilities, instead of engaging in serious diplomatic action to imminently reach a political resolution that protects Lebanon.

Hezbollah continues to maintain a posture that will only lead to further death and destruction, and compromise Lebanese national interests, while Iran is vying for a deal around its nuclear program.

Most Lebanese politicians are waiting opportunistically for what will come out of this, instead of courageously laying out a political vision that the Lebanese can rally around, transcending sectarian cleavages.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese are dying in a war that many have not chosen, leaving their villages after they had rebuilt their homes and lives there, and experiencing tragedies that are way beyond what anyone should experience in one lifetime.
