In recent years, the fight for equality has felt especially tough. We talk of wanting to end violence against women and girls, but when presented with the facts it feels like we are going backwards. So today, my mind is mainly on the women we've lost to gender-based hate. (2/4)

The language used and threats towards women in public life only seem to have got worse. Ultimately, this reflects how women everywhere are viewed and treated in their daily lives, the degree and depth of misogyny that exists in our society. (3/4)
