The listing of the Athens International Airport (AIA) on the Athens stock exchange is a triple success.
It’s a success for the airport itself as it embarks on a new era with stronger capital.
It’s a success for the exchange which adds a high market capitalization company and it’s good news for the Greek state as it raised proceeds of 785 mln euros.
The listing of AIA follows a string of privatizations and concession contracts in the last months which reflect investors’ confidence in Greece’s economy.
In all these initiatives the government’s main message is that an open economy which attracts capital and investment strengthens growth for the benefit of many.
