#OnThisDay in 1908, Fantasmagorie, a French silent animated short film📽 produced by Émile Cohl, was released. Considered the first animated film, it featured 16 hand-drawn frames per second. The final reel contained 36 metres of film and was distributed by Gaumont (EUTM 1085061)
