For their last day, the ambassadors from @franceinnepal and @GerAmbKTM to Nepal met the Sudupaschim Chief Minister and his cabinet, while @EUAmbNepal and @finlandinnepal ambassadors continued their visit in Kailali.

In Kailali, @EUAmbNepal & @finlandinnepal ambassadors visited Kamaiya and Kamalari communities supported by @FCA_global. Kamaiyas and Kamalaris are former bonded labourers who gained their freedom in 2000 but still suffer from many forms of marginalization.

Then an interaction was held with the Forum’s REFLECT programme members, which is centred around freed Kamaiya community members learning about their own marginalisation and demanding rights and rehabilitation from the government as a collective.

At the Chepkatla Freed Kamaiya Settlement, a new rice mill built in February with support from @fca_global is providing community members with easy access to rice, flour & feed for their pigs at low prices. The mill is managed by the community & is earning them a monthly income.

First the ambassadors visited vegetable farms at the Khamaura Freed Kamaiya Settlement in Godawari Municipality, Kailali, supported by the @FCA_global led Freed Kamaiya Women’s Development Forum. Farmers have received four kathas of land from the government to conduct farming.
