The COM had approved the registration of the lamb meat ‘Keleméri bárányhús’ as a protected geographical indication .

The lambs are from Île-de-France or Suffolk breeds of sheep, raised in the village of Kelemér located in the famous Aggtelek National Park. Besides grass, the pastures also contain medicinal plants that give the meat a spicy aroma & flavour.
