Unfinished business: the challenge of ending #tuberculosis in the European Region.
We have a sobering warning this #WorldTBDay - despite having the tools to end #TB, the European Region remains a long way from meeting its targets.

Our latest joint report on #Tuberculosis shows that, despite an overall downward trend in the incidence of #TB in the WHO European Region, the rate of decline will not be sufficient to meet the UN #SDG targets for ending the TB epidemic by 2030.

To #endTB, it is necessary to:
- stop transmission (identification of active TB cases)
- prevent development of TB in infected patients.
There is also an increased burden of drug-resistant cases, low treatment success rates & service disruption caused by the #COVID19 pandemic.
